喧嚣过后是沉寂。我不想我的作品给人太多躁动感，我希望画面带去的是安静之后的沉思。满怀虔诚和敬意，在作这一组作品时，我通过构图等一列处理，有意识的弱化宗教意义，凸显历史与文化内涵，并摒弃了现代化的综合性材料，只一笔一划，原原本本，如传统工艺样，只为镌刻其美，愿观者感动于心。

 

Artistic statement:

The Dunhuang series, selected from Dunhuang Grottoes, witnesses the glory and vicissitudes of the culture of Far East. Many years ago, I went there and bought some materials on the murals of the Mogao Grottoes. Through all these years, every time I feel tired and empty, I will flip through these books to recollect the beautiful and exquisite rare treasures of Dunhuang art.

 

The ends of all the hustle and bustle come to the eternal soundlessness. So I don't want my work bring the audience much mood, what I want is a contemplation along with all those peaceful images on the picture. when I made this group of works, I ,with piety and respect, purposely weakened the religious meaning, highlighted the historical and cultural connotations. I abandoned the modern techniques and all mixed materials, just use the most traditional way of painting as a way to pay tribute to those great ancient mural painter. This traditional craftsmanship is only to engrave its beauty.
